Salary Range Starting at: $18.00 per hour

Job Description:

As the Program Ministries Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support for the Program and Youth Department at Indiana Divisional Headquarters ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop marketing and correspondence for Divisional Events
  • Compose and prepare daily/weekly/monthly correspondence for Youth and Program department
  • Create and maintain registration for All divisional events.
  • Manage office mail Email and USPS/UPS mail in and out of the office & Department Calendar.
  • Take meeting minutes during department meetings, Mission and Program Council, and Divisional Candidates Board
  • Assist with officer candidate responsibilities as needed by the Divisional Candidates Secretary Upload case files, minutes, and other documents into the Officer Candidate Database.
  • Maintain Inventory for department. Offices Supplies, program supplies, materials, etc.
  • Process invoices for accuracy and payment
  • Other tasks as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent

Background Checks : Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: General Office Management Experience preferred

Certifications: Must have a valid drivers license and maintain The Salvation Army Drivers qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 5 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems and registration systems.
  • Able to use programs such as Canva and Adobe products

Supervisory Responsibility: none

Physical Requirements Include:

  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
  • May require bending, squatting, walking.
  • May require standing for extended

Travel: Some local travel required occasional trips to Hidden Falls Camp for Divisional Events.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical office environment; may require some evening and weekend work
