As a Database Administrator (DBA) you will manage the performance, integrity, and security of multiple Microsoft SQL databases. You'll be involved in the planning and development databases and related systems, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. You'll ensure that data remains consistent across the company's data environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the principal DBA for the SQL Server data warehouse and enterprise application
  • Responsibility for the performance, security and health of the SQL Server instances and databases.
  • Managing database backups, health checks, and maintenance plans.
  • Setting up and managing access/security roles.
  • Optimizing database performance via indices, statistics, table partitioning, etc.
  • Working with data architects and ETL developers to ensure that SQL Agent jobs and ETL processes are working optimally and efficiently.
  • Manage high availability solutions (e.g., Always On Availability Groups, clustering).
  • Plan and test disaster recovery procedures on a consistent and recurring basis.
  • Deploying changes from development to production.
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported by users and/or system monitoring tools.
  • Work with support teams to resolve database-related incidents.
  • Assist in defining and creating database objects for development projects
  • Monitoring, optimizing, and modifying user queries as appropriate
  • Utilize accepted change management and documentation methods in all aspects of database administration
  • Attention to detail
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 year college degree from an accredited university or equivalent years of experience
  • Local Metro Atlanta residents preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in US
  • Top-level knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and SQL server tools
  • Setup and administer SQL in Always-On and Windows Failover Cluster environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of database and query performance monitoring and optimization
  • Strong working knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, SQL Agent, and SSIS.
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling and optimizing the database for both.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent work ethic and strong intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, and to multi-task
  • Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure
  • DBA experience in a data warehousing context
  • Experience with SSAS, SSRS
  • Experience of supporting databases with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Define and implement best practices for environment isolation & disaster recovery
